At Kare-A-Lot, the child comes first. We take pride in not only providing for their physical and emotional needs, but for their developmental needs as well. Our curriculum was created for its balance between both teacher-directed and child-initiated learning. It is our goal to help the children develop the passion for learning that they will carry with them throughout their life. Kare-A-Lot uses a weekly theme based curriculum that is designed to foster social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development and to enhance learning in literacy, math, science, social studies, and the arts. This allows the teachers to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, content-rich program for children of all backgrounds and skill levels that is constantly matching the interests of the students. Please be sure to look for the weekly lesson plans hanging in the classrooms.
Thanks for everything . The teachers are amazing. I’m really recommended this place.

The care and development of my child is brilliant. They do a variety of activities and take lots of photos via the Brightwheel app. My child is so happy to come to Daycare everyday and that makes me feel good. They’re always open supportive and engaging interactions between providers and children which has made this experience one of the BEST!!!

Both my children attend Kare- A-Lot. I feel like it’s been the best decision we’ve made for our children. Not only do they give them the care and love you want for your children but the education. Even in the infant room there is a curriculum. It’s been extremely helpful for their development physical and motor skills. Teachers have become close dear friends to us. With the new director taking over we’ve seen wonderful changes and couldn’t be more happier! Very thankful for Kare-a-lot and would HIGHLY recommend.

All 3 of my boys are attending Kare a lot . I couldn’t be happier and satisfied of the great care , attention , love , teaching and I see all the positive changes and improvements on a daily basis. And I of course highly recommend any parents that looking for a great day care to come to Kare a lot ! Pre K teachers are the best !! The director assistant is very amazing, she is always available and helpful…

I personally recommend this daycare, my two daughters were there and everything was very nice, the staff is like a family, very attentive, friendly, organized,💕 kare-a lo💯👍. …

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Kare-A-Lot. As a parent, it is always scary to leave your child in the hands of others but from the beginning we always felt at home at KAL. Our son started in the infant room and we had an amazing experience with Merita & Kozeta, they are truly a gift! We were at KAL up until our son was 2.5 (as we moved) but we would have stayed as long as possible as we had great experiences in each room that he was in. The staff as a whole from teachers to directors were fabulous, attentive, and felt like they really cared. As a family, we were so sad to leave Kare-A-Lot but are grateful for all the amazing times and people that we met!

We came off cycle in the middle of the winter and got accepted to pre-K class immediately - no waitlists, no other hassle. We received extremely warm welcome from the Kare-a-lot directors and pre-K teachers Mrs. Jackie and Mrs. Holly. We had great > 1.5 years there - teachers went above and beyond for kids: they have music teachers, they have jump bunch, Zoo visits, Dr. Insect, water playdays in summer. As a bonus - it is in the heart of Columbus/open from 7 am till 6 pm Monday through Friday, they are open year around except for major federal holidays. We had a very positive experience with the daycare.

The staff at Kare-a-lot were so kind and easy to work with. All of the teachers showed so much love and compassion to our family during a difficult time. Almost all of the adults in the building know every kid by name and it's obvious they all enjoy the children

Kare A Lot is my favorite! The Pre-K teachers have been with the school for many years. I would say they might be the best in the midwest!

Our child went to Kare-a-lot for about 6 weeks. We have wonderful experience with polite, attentive staff/care givers and I will highly recommend this day care to any body. Their rates are very reasonable and quality of service is extremely good, true value for money!!

My son has been at Kare-A-Lot since he was 3 months old. All of the staff have been wonderful with him. I feel confident he is well cared for during the day and receiving love and attention while I am at work. The staff is wonderful and very experienced.

Great Place, My Daughter loves it here she is 2yrs and knows most of her Colors, Shapes, Numbers and Letters. She brings home Arts and Crafts every week, she has become more independent i love it. I get updates throughout the day through this app called Bright wheel, everything gets documented on there and i get notified right away which is great, the staff there are very polite and caring. I also like how they are Nuts Free child care. They also have a healthy lunch Menu A+

My daughter goes to this daycare and within in two weeks of her being there she was walking. I love her teacher we have great communication via in person or through the brightwheel app. I feel a comfortable and safe to drop my daughter off in a clean and safe environment where she will be treated well and took care of for eight hours. Everyone is so wonderful from director to teachers. Great place to enroll your child.

I would not recommend sending your children to this daycare, but I will provide examples of what made me unhappy so you can make your decision based on what is important to you. 1) Nutrition: The food provided to the children is unhealthy and not well balanced. The food is processed. Rarely if ever are veggies served. My child was fed chocolate chip cookies at 9am and lollipops in the infant room. We were told that milk would be provided to the children, but at some point were asked to start bringing it in if we wanted our child to drink any. 2) Screen Time/Lack of Engagement: The teachers relied heavily on TV/videos to occupy the children's time. There was a huge lack of engagement and learning activities. Per the AAP, no baby under 18 months old should be exposed to screen media. I can't count the number of times at pick-up I saw my infant just sitting there in front of a tablet watching a video. It broke my heart every time. The first years of life need to be focused on human interactions that encourage speaking, interacting socially, and playing with loving caregivers to develop thinking, problem-solving, and other skills. The teachers simply do not interact or engage with the children enough. As my child grew and moved up in classrooms, teachers were often on their personal cell phones at drop-off and pick-up while children played freely in the room. They built in watching movies to the toddler daily schedule. 3) Not Well Maintained/Cleaned: The facility is not kept clean. Most things appear to be covered in dust/dirt/filth. The floor was sticky all the time. There was an ant infestation in the infant room. 4) Poor Communication: I never felt I had a good handle of how my child was doing. I would ask how the day went and I would get very generic answers - "it was a good day". I would ask specifics, and it seemed the answers were never known. There were no parent teacher conferences unless requested, and it was difficult to get answers from some teachers. 5) No Respect for Clothes: I understand children are messy and I understand accidents happen, but this daycare seemed to have a lack of respect for the children's clothes. They did not use smocks for art activities or roll up sleeves during meals. My child came home almost every day in either a filthy outfit or change of clothes. When my child was in the infant room, a typical day involved multiple outfit changes, likely because my child was sitting in a dirty diaper for too long. 6) Not Child-Centered Program: The daycare does not offer flexibility to cater towards each child's needs. Our child was forced to go down to a single nap at 12 months of age even though both naps were still needed and used when our child was at home with us. Our child showed signs of being ready to potty train prior to two years old, and the daycare did not even consider how to make this work with their program. We were told no, without discussion. While my child attended this daycare, I did often second guess myself. Maybe I am being too picky? Maybe I have too high of expectations? What if all daycares are like this? Well, I am happy to say we have switched to a different daycare and our child is now thriving. We feel our new daycare is an extension of our family - our child is safe and we feel is getting the best care possible - healthy foods, a wonderful engaging (and clean!) learning environment, great communication between staff and parents. It is such a blessing not to feel the constant guilt and dread as we did with Kare A Lot.

My daughter went to Kate-a-Lot from around 2 months old until she started Kindergarten. Absolutely wonderful!!!! Wonderful teachers at every level, healthy food, relavent and fun learning. My daughter is doing excellent in Kindergarten and still misses the staff at Kare-a-Lot. I highly recommend this learning and care facility!!

My children attended daycare here for over two years and we had a wonderful experience. It wasn't until we moved away and had the chance to tour other facilities again, that we realized how lucky we were. The teachers are polite, caring and friendly and also give great effort to help the kids learn. Detailed curriculum is given and followed. Highly recommend this place if you're looking. Thank you Kare-A-Lot!

Very nurturing and consistent care. The teachers are responsive to parents. My child is thriving.

Our son has been with this school since he was an infant. The students and teachers are diverse coming from all walks of life and their care and teaching program are excellent.
